Pomposo NDC Branch Congratulates New MCE of Obuasi East; Presents Community Development Priorities

In a show of solidarity and community engagement, the Pomposo branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), where the newly elected Municipal Chief Executive (MCE),Hon. William Kofi Adzowu of Obuasi East Municipality hails from, warmly congratulated him on his official appointment during a well-attended meeting held today 3rd June, 2025 between 5:00 and 5:10 p.m.

The gathering, marked by cheers and heartfelt speeches, recognized the MCE’s unwavering dedication, selflessness, and patience in addressing local concerns. The branch leadership praised his inspirational leadership and the positive influence he continues to have on the youth within the party.

“On this milestone achievement, we celebrate not only your life but also the incredible impact you have had on ours. We honor your devotion, your wisdom and your generosity,” party representative read from the citation.
As part of the meeting, the community seized the opportunity to present a carefully prepared list of eight pressing development needs of the area. Key among them were:
1.The upgrade of CKC Secondary School to enhance educational infrastructure.

2. Financial support for women in business through MASLOC grant interventions.

3. Youth employment initiatives, particularly in the area of community security.

4. The construction of an additional classroom block to ease overcrowding.

5. Support for local farmers to improve agricultural productivity.

Other critical issues were also mentioned.

In his response, the MCE expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support and assured attendees that their concerns had not gone unnoticed. “Your requests have already been captured in the municipality’s development priority list,” he revealed, drawing applause from the crowd.

As an immediate step, the MCE instructed the community leadership to submit names of 20 local farmers who will benefit from an immediate release of fertilizers and pesticides.

The event concluded on a hopeful note, with residents and party members thanking the MCE for his proactive commitment to the area’s development and his readiness to act.
“This is the kind of leadership we have longed for—one that listens and acts,” one resident remarked.
