YEA DONATES START- UP KITS TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS IN OBUASI EAST

Over 50 Youth Employment Agency (YEA) beneficiaries in the Obuasi East Municipal have received vital equipment to kickstart their entrepreneurial journeys.

The Obuasi East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Faustina Amissah handed over Drilling machines, hair dryers, Auto works kits, safety equipment and makeup kits to empower the upcoming entrepreneurs.

These items were received by the beneficiaries after completing a six (6) months skill Training Program, where they gained expertise in areas such as plumbing, vehicle servicing, Beauty care, Hair dressing and wood works.

 At the occasion Hon. Faustina Amissah commended the beneficiaries for taking up the challenge to acquire skills in various aspect.

She said that government has created various opportunity for every young person, since some being enrolled in the free SHS and then TVET so as those involved in apprenticeships.

She again said those who have completed their apprenticeship program, the government through YEA decided to give them their start up kits which in a long run help boost the local economy.

She made an appeal that for sustainability and continuity of this program under YHEA, Ghanaians should all com e out on December 7 by voting for Dr. Bawumiah and the new Patriotic party ton continue their good work

Finally, she advised the beneficiaries not to keep their kits in their rooms but to ensure they utilize the resources effectively 

 The Municipal Director of YEA, Mike Afoakwa said the beneficiaries have undergone a six(6) month skills training program and being awarded with TVET and NVTI accredited certificate which will help theme gain job opportunity around the world. Through out their training program YEA gave each one an amount of GH₵ 500.00 as stipend every month.

 He finally said the Agency has created equal opportunity for everyone who is interested to join the skill training program once the online portal is opened. This is also an avenue the government is using to reduce unemployment rate in the country.

Priscilla Opoku beautician and a beneficiary, could not hide her joy by expressing her profound gratitude to YEA for such an opportunity, “ I was jobless before but through the help of YEA skills training program and these starter kit which are the basic needs for my personal establishment I can say good bye to unemployment”.
