Obuasi East Municipal Assembly Engages Stakeholders In 2026 Fee Fixing Resolution

In pursuance to the Local Government Act 2016 Act 936 which enjoins Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to invite residents and other stakeholders for their suggestions on the draft fee fixing resolution for the ensuing year, the Budget unit of the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly has on Wednesday 8th October, 2025 organized a stakeholders engagement meeting on its 2025 fee fixing resolution at the Old Court Wawasi in Obuasi East.
Stakeholders who attended the consultation meeting included Artisans, Transport Unions, Traders, Landlords Association, Sachet Water Producers, Bakers, Scrap dealers, Mechanics, among others.
The Municipal Coordinating Director Richard Blevi on the purpose of the gathering said the meeting forms part of the statutory processes of the Assembly to consult key stakeholders for their input before finalizing its fee-fixing resolution for the coming fiscal year.


In a power point presentation by Jacinta Ackah, the Municipal Budget Analyst, the stakeholders were taken through how the fees and rates were arrived at the various categories and its corresponding fees, they were also taken through the projects and programs the Assembly has undertaken.
The Municipal Coordinating Director underscore the importance of the engagement, stressing that the Assembly remains committed to fostering transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in its decision-making processes. He then commended the traders, artisans, and the business community for their contributions.
He entreated the stakeholders to always fulfill their tax obligations and pay their levies on time for the development of their communities.
In an open forum, the participants raised issues of concern pertaining to their communities which were addressed by the Municipal Coordinating Director and other technocrats at the Assembly respectively.
