Obuasi East Municipal Assembly Staff Equipped with Digital Skills Through SmartWorkplace Portal Training

In a major stride towards digital transformation, staff of the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly participated in a comprehensive training session on the SmartWorkplace Portal on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Obuasi Old Court. The session, which ran from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., aimed to transition the Assembly from traditional paper-based processes to a modern, paperless work environment.
In his opening remarks, the Honourable Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), William Kofi Adzowu, welcomed the training team and participants, reaffirming his commitment to the Assembly’s digitalization agenda. He emphasized the critical role of technology in enhancing administrative efficiency, transparency, and service delivery at the local level.
“Embracing technology is no longer optional—it is the foundation for a more efficient and responsive public service,” the DCE noted.
The facilitators encouraged full adoption of the SmartWorkplace Portal, highlighting successful rollouts in other assemblies such as the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly.
The training was led by a team of experts including Nathan Somuah from eSolutions Consulting, Frank Kwame Kontoh from the Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS), Bright Ocrah from Management Information Systems (MIS), ARCC, and Martin Enu, Driver, ARCC.

According to the trainers, the positive attitude of participants signals strong readiness for the successful usage of the SmartWorkplace Portal within the Assembly.
