As part of various engagements with indigenes and the good people of Obuasi East District, the hardworking District Chief Executive, Hon. Faustina Amissah together with the District Co-ordinating director, Mr. Eric Aboagye and some members of staff within the Obuasi East District Assembly visited traders and market women at Tutuka market.
This exercise forms part of the annual engagements conducted by the Assembly, in their quest to bring good governance and timely relay of accurate information to the doorsteps of the people.
The District Chief Executive, seized the opportunity to re-emphasize on the Assembly’s decision not to increase various taxes paid by the market women and traders for the usage of the facility. In her own words, she said, “The Assembly has taken notice of some false information (increment of taxes) relayed by some people purported to scare our beloved market women and traders. I wish to state categorically without mincing words as the head of the Assembly that, there will be no such increments for this calendar year. Traders are admonished to calm down and not dwell in fear and panic. Again, there will be no increments. Thank you”
Conclusively, she assured them that the Assembly is concerned about the maintenance of the facility, hence various renovations will be done this year. The traders and market women warmly received the team and the euphoria was very pleasant. They further thanked the Assembly for engaging in such exercise and called for more of such in the coming days.
