The Obuasi East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. William KOFI Adzowu joined residence of Brahabebome, a community in the municipality for the September edition of National Sanitation Day.
The clean-up exercise which commenced in the early hours of Saturday 6th September 2025, brought together officers from the Obuasi East Municipal Assembly, the Security Agencies, institutions, Assembly Members, traditional leaders, Waste management service providers, and other stakeholders who exhibited commitment to enhancing sanitation standards in the Municipality.
“Before the nomination of MMDCEs by the President I was already involved in the exercise, it has been continued since my appointment as a Municipal Chief Executive for Obuasi East Municipal Assembly”. Says Hon. William Kofi Adzowu
Hon. William Adzowu publicly commended community members for their active participation in National Sanitation Day activities, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in promoting environmental cleanliness and public health.
He also lauded the committee for their efforts towards the exercise mostly the Environmental Health and Sanitation Department, the NCCE and Information Service Department of the municipal assembly and AGAMAL for their intensive publicity on the program.
The MCE appealed to the Chiefs, Opinion leaders, Stakeholders, Heads of institutions, Assembly members and the general public to support the clean-up exercise initiative and take ownership of their environment and work together to maintain good sanitation practices.
Some participants engaged by the Information Services Department (ISD) also expressed satisfaction about the exercise and appealed to authorities to help communities with adequate supply of tools such as rakes, brooms, dustbins and other cleaning items
