Obuasi East District Assembly Holds Stakeholders’ Meeting On 2022 Fee-Fixing Resolution

Mr. Eric Aboagye-Mensah, the District Coordinating Director for Slot Hoki Obuasi East has called on residents in the area to honour their civic duties by paying their taxes, levies and fees promptly.

He said although there have been onerous effects on the Assembly and the people at large following the COVID-19 pandemic, it was prudent to ensure that levies/taxes due the Assemble, are collected to ensure a stable and sound economy of the Assembly.

He made this call during a stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the 2022 fee-fixing resolution with the various Slot Demo stakeholders in the District. The meeting was held on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th October, 2021 at the District Assembly’s Conference Hall.

With a Power Point presentation, the District Budget Analyst Mr. Daniel Ntiri-Nyame outlined the various developmental projects (both ongoing and completed) that the Assembly and Hon. Member of Parliament for the Area, had carried out since its separation from Obuasi Municipal Assembly.

Mr. Ntiri-Nyame stated that the Obuasi East District Assembly since its inception had not increased its basic rates, although there have been a substantial decrease in the percentage of revenue collected.

Participants deliberated and made recommendations to the officials on the possible ways to collect revenues in the District for developmental projects.

In attendance were, Assembly Members, Traders, Artisans, Landlords, Judi Slot, Opinion Leaders, and Representatives of Businesses.
