Formation Of Policy Implementation Committee Of the Fixed Assets Co-ordinating Unit

A Policy Implementation Committee of the Fixed Assets Co-coordinating Unit has been inaugurated in the Obuasi East District Assembly. The committee members has the core mandate to help in the preparation of plan and policies regarding the field assets of the Assembly and the policies and plan will guide the Assembly in the use, disposal and the maintenance of the resources available to the  Assembly.

In his welcome address, the District Coordinating Director Mr. Eric Aboagye-Mensah said, the purpose of the meeting and the need for the establishment of the unit was in line with a letter by Administrator General to the Assemblies requesting for the submission of Asset Register and for that matter the formation of the Fixed Asset Management Unit in every Assembly to help in the preparation of Plan and Policies regarding the Fixed Assets of the Assembly.

Addressing the members to inaugurate the committee, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Faustina Amissah encouraged members to continue working hard for the betterment of the District. She then thanked the Administrators for the timely effort in ensuring the formation of the Unit and for that matter the Committee to develop policies to govern the purchase, maintenance and disposal of fixed assets of the Assembly.

The composition of the Unit consists of the following:

  1. District Co-ordinating Director – Chairman
  2. District Budget Analyst – Fixed Asset Coordinator
  3. Estate Officer – Secretary
  4. Transport Officer – Member
  5. District Finance Officer – Member
  6. Supply/Stores -Member
  7. Heads of User Departments and Units

The Fixed Asset Coordinator, Daniel Ntiri-Nyame thanked members for their cooperation and urged members to support the Unit and Committee to work in the compilation of data that would be needful for the Exercise.
